Distribution of Tickets:
The Legion Million Dollar Lottery 2012 Committee members will control all tickets. Ticket request forms are available only by mail, phone, authorized outlets, participating branches of the Royal Canadian Legion, on the website at www.millions.com and through the newspaper and other such publications as may be determined by the committee. Ticket Request Forms will be collected weekly to enable tickets to be processed and mailed by the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre. Ticket Request Forms must be received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre to be valid.
Tickets may be purchased with Cheque, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard, or Cash. The Lottery Committee’s liability is limited to the purchase price of the ticket.
If any purchased ticket has been entered for any draw, no refund will be issued.
Total number of tickets will be 20,000 single tickets at $25.00 each; 21,000 sets at 3 for $50; and 36,000 sets at 10 for $100.00 for a grand total of 443,000 tickets.
Only upon demonstrating extraordinary circumstances to Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission will the Licensee make a request for draw date extension.
Draw Dates:
The Previous Supporter and Friends draw will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the offices of Stride Management Corp. located at 3950 12th Street NE Calgary, Alberta starting at 6:00 PM. Only tickets received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre before 11:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2012 will be eligible for this draw.
The Early Bird #1 Draw will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the offices of Stride Management Corp. located at 3950 12th Street NE Calgary, Alberta starting at 6:00 PM. Only tickets received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre before 11:00 PM Wednesday, March 14, 2012 will be eligible for this draw.
The Early Bird #2 Draw will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the offices of Stride Management Corp. located at 3950 12th Street NE Calgary, Alberta starting at 6:00 PM. Only tickets received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre before 11:00 PM Wednesday, March 28, 2012 will be eligible for this draw.
The Final Draw for the remaining prizes will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 9:00 AM until finished at the Royal Canadian Legion Ogden Branch #154, 2625 78th Avenue, Calgary Alberta. Only tickets received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre before 11:00 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2012 will be eligible for this draw.
All of the above mentioned draws are open to any member of the general public wishing to attend.
Draw Order:
The first draw will be the Previous Supporter and Friends Draws (10 draws, each of $1,000 cash); next will be the Early Bird Draws (first draw of $50,000; second draw of $100,000) and lastly all Final Draws starting with the prize of lowest cash value up to and including the three Grand Prizes. After each draw by numbered ticket stub, the winner will be recorded and ticket stub placed back in the drum for the next draw. Each ticket is eligible for all draws except where they may be late for the Previous Supporter & Friends and Early Bird Draws. In the event that all tickets are sold by Wednesday, March 28, 2012 all prizes will be drawn Sunday, April 15, 2012 upon approval from Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission.
All winners will be notified in writing by Stride Management Corp. detailing what they have won and where they can claim their prize(s). All names, cities and winning ticket numbers of winners will be published on the internet site. www.millions.com with the Grand Prize winners published in the Calgary and Edmonton Sun newspapers within seven (7) days following the draw.
Tickets may be purchased by more than one person, however if a ticket stub with more than one name on it is drawn, the licensed charity shall award the prize to only one of the individuals identified on the stub. The licensed charity and the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission are not responsible for any disputes which may arise between different individuals purchasing one ticket.
If any prize(s) remain unclaimed for more than 1 year from the date of the draw, a request will be made to Alberta Gaming for a decision regarding the disbursement of the prize(s).
Members of the Royal Canadian Legions of Alberta may purchase tickets in the Legion Million Dollar Lottery.
Contest guidelines prohibit the following people from purchasing tickets in the lottery: the Lottery Manager, the Auditor of the tickets, the Lottery Committee, employees of Stride Management Corp. and families of the above residing at the same address, and anyone under the age of 18. The Licensee will advise all purchasers not to include the name of anyone under the age of 18 on a ticket due to the requirements of the Public Trustees Act.
