Distribution of Tickets:
The Legion Million Dollar Lottery 2008 Committee members will control all tickets. Ticket request forms are available only by mail, fax, phone, at authorized outlets, participating branches of the Royal Canadian Legion, on the internet at www.millions.com, as well as through the newspaper and other such publications as may be determined by the committee. Ticket Request Forms will be collected weekly to enable tickets to be processed and mailed by the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre. Ticket Request Forms must be received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre to be valid.
Tickets may be purchased with Cheque, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard, or Cash. The Lottery Committee’s liability is limited to the purchase price of the ticket.
If any purchased ticket has been entered for any draw, no refund will be issued.
Total number of tickets will be 16,000 single tickets at $25.00 each; 19,000 sets of 3 for $50; and 34,000 sets of 10 for $100.00 for a grand total of 413,000 tickets.
Only upon demonstrating extraordinary circumstances to Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission will the Licensee make a request for draw date extension.
Draw Dates:
The Previous Supporter and Friends Draw (12 prizes of $2,000 each). Buy your tickets before 11 PM Sunday, February 3, 2008 to be eligible. Draw will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the offices of Stride Management Corp. located at 3950 12 Street NE, Calgary, AB starting at 2 PM.
The 2 Early Bird Draws ($100,000 cash and $50,000 cash). Buy your tickets before 11 PM Sunday, March 9, 2008 to be eligible. Draw will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the offices of Stride Management Corp. located at 3950 12 Street NE, Calgary, AB starting at 6 PM.
The Final Draw (All remaining prizes). Buy your tickets before 11 PM Friday, April 18, 2008 to be eligible. Draw will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 9 AM until finished at the Royal Canadian Legion Norwood Branch #178, 11150 - 82 Street, Edmonton, AB.
All of the above mentioned draws are open to any member of the general public wishing to attend.
Draw Order:
The first draw will be the Previous Supporter and Friends Draws (12 draws, each of $2,000 cash); next will be the 2 Early Bird Draws and lastly the Final Draw, with the remaining prizes drawn in order of lowest cash value up to the Grand Prize. After each draw by numbered ticket stub, the winner will be recorded and ticket stub placed back in the drum for the next draw. Each ticket is eligible for all prizes except where they may be late for the Previous Supporter & Friends and Early Bird Draws. If all tickets are sold by Sunday, March 9, 2008 all prizes will be drawn commencing Sunday, March 30, 2008 on approval of Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission.
All winners will be notified in writing by Stride Management Corp. detailing what they have won and where they can claim their prize(s). All names, cities and winning ticket numbers of winners will be published in Calgary and Edmonton newspapers the Friday following each draw, as well as on the internet site at www.millions.com.
Tickets may be purchased by more than one person; however, if a ticket stub with more than one name on it is drawn, the licensed charity shall award the prize to only one of the individuals identified on the stub. The licensed charity and the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission are not responsible for any disputes which may arise between different persons purchasing one ticket.
If any prize(s) remain unclaimed for more than 1 year from the date of the draw, a request will be made to Alberta Gaming for a decision regarding the disbursement of the prize(s).
Members of the Royal Canadian Legions of Alberta may purchase tickets in the Legion Million Dollar Lottery.
Contest guidelines prohibit the following people from purchasing tickets in the lottery: anyone under the age of 18, the Lottery Manager, the Auditor of the tickets, the Lottery Committee, employees of Stride Management Corp. and families of the above residing at the same address. The Licensee will advise all purchasers not to include the name of anyone under the age of 18 on the ticket due to the requirements of the Public Trustees Act.
